Osterley Park and House

Osterley Park and House review

Osterley Park and House is a beautiful 18th-century mansion set in more than 350 acres of parkland. Osterley House, with its string of state rooms, was built by Sir Thomas Gresham, founder of the Royal Exchange, and later remodelled by Robert Adam. In the grounds, restored in the 18th-century style, there are two temples and a lake as well as tea rooms and a farm shop selling home-grown produce. A restoration project on the gardens is under way, beginning with a recreation of former resident Mrs Child's flower garden. Frsh vegetables are available to buy from the Osterley Park and House farm shop. Digital tours using audio-visual handsets allow visitors to explore the house with audio commentary and images from Osterley's past. There are two tours - one for adults, one for families.
