This cherished hole in the wall - if smoking were still allowed, this is the kind of place that would be full of it - books a grab-bag of stuff. Located just off Denmark Street, the West End's main muso thoroughfare, the 12 Bar Club is a gathering place for London's musically minded types with the odd Pete Doherty wannabe crowding the courtyard outside. The size (capacity of 100, a stage that barely accommodates a trio) dictates a predominance of singer-songwriters and with live music every night, there's a good chance of catching the next big thing in action. Above-average café fare is served at the tiny tables crowded round the stage and the graffiti-covered walls just add to the effect.
Memphis-based legend of Americana, who has built up a cult following through such albums as 'Gettysburg To Graceland'...
