Set in an old warehouse with lots of de rigueur exposed brick and beams, this two-floor venue has been at the heart of the East End scene since the good old days. Upstairs at Herbal is more lounge-like, with sofas and nooks and crannies, while downstairs is famed for its eardrum-bursting soundsystem. Herbal's music policy covers the entire spectrum from house and techno to drum 'n' bass, hip hop, funk, soul and '80s, so there's something to please everyone. Make space in your schedule for all-girl monthly bass session Feline, intimate parties from vocal disco house funksters Bobby & Steve Presents and numerous after-party Sunday sessions that run into Monday morning. This venue is a serious crowd pleaser.
