London Coliseum review

The Coliseum's 2,350-seat auditorium, built as a grand music hall in 1904 by the renowned architect Frank Matcham, was restored to its former glory in 2004 as part of an £80 million restoration. All the resident English National Opera (ENO) needs is for new artistic director Edward Gardner to develop a programme to match it. Productions for 2009 include a revival of Anthony Minghella's 'Madam Butterfly' in June. Unlike at the Royal Opera House, all works here are performed in English. The English National Ballet is also resident here.
