In addition to the hundreds of varieties of fish and sea life from all over the world, including stingrays, sharks, piranhas and sea scorpions, the recently reopened and renamed aquarium, has a new attraction, the Shark Walk, which allows visitors to walk over a floating glass platform with sharks swimming just below their feet. Californian cownose rays which swim in synchronised formation are another new feature, as is a tunnel constructed from a 25-metre-long whale skeleton, beneath which visitors can view a tropical ocean of fish, coral and green turtles. The aquarium is well placed for the attractions of the South Bank; it's right beside the London Eye and a 20-minute walk along the river from Tate Modern.
