Richard Boyle, the third Earl of Burlington, designed Chiswick House, a romantic 18th-century villa and gardens, to evoke classical Italian themes. It is a lovely house which is open all year round. However, visitors should be aware that refurbishment works are taking place around some of the parkland. Gardens around the House are open however, and have wonderful views.
