Vinopolis

Glossy Vinopolis is more of an introduction to wine tasting than a resource for cognoscenti, but you do need some prior interest to get a kick out of it. Participants are furnished with a wine glass and an audio guide for the self-guided tasting tour exploring the history of wine making, which gives visitors the lowdown on cultures, grape varieties and vineyards, with recorded commentary from experts and producers. Exhibits are set out by country, with five opportunities to taste wine or champagne from different regions. Gin crashes the party courtesy of a Bombay Sapphire cocktail, and you can also sample Caribbean rum, beer from the Vinopolis microbrewery and even different types of absinthe.
