Golden Hinde

The authentic atmosphere aboard the Golden Hinde, a full-size reconstruction of Sir Francis Drake's sixteenth-century flagship, is fleshed out by a 'crew' in Elizabethan costume who regale visitors with tales of uncomfortable nights on bare decks awash with salt water and worse (no hammocks in those days and there was often livestock aboard) and the brutal justice imposed on sailors who stole precious rations. During holiday periods there are events and activities for children aged six to 12, who must be accompanied and who can take part in pirate fun days and thrilling sleepover sessions on the Golden Hinde.
