Return to the Sea: Closing Ceremony

If you haven't seen Motoi Yamamoto's impressive sea salt art, you'll have one more chance on Saturday, December 8th; you can even be part of the closing ceremony for the exhibit. The gallery will host a reception for the artist, including a blessing and drum ceremony, then invite patrons to help gather the hundreds of pounds of sea salt that make up the work, travel to Playa del Rey (by free bus) and ceremoniously fling the salt back into the sea alongside the artist himself (hence the name of the exhibit). The bus will leave for Dockweiler beach at 2:30pm and return at 3:30pm.
