Time Out says

Seven artists link fabric-based art with ideas of social engagement. The result? Workers around the globe who have been guided to create crocheted imitations of recognizable designer handbags and accessories. Military uniforms repurposed into paper. A mending workshop that teaches sewing to reduce people's dependence on shopping. Social Fabric, on view from Jan 27 through May 5 at the Craft and Folk Art Museum, offers a range of crafted pieces as well as performance art that speak to mass production and consumption.

A series of special events accompanies the show, including a counterfeit crochet workshop on Sunday, March 3, with artist Stephanie Syjuco and collaborative mending with Frau Fiber's bicycle-powered sewing factory on Wednesday, May 1.
