Calvary Cemetery review Rate it

Established 19 years after Evergreen Cemetery in unincorporated East LA, Calvary Cemetery is a driving cemetery. The broad avenues of this Catholic burial ground are lined with polychromed statues of the stations of the cross, tucked under glass to keep them crisp. Of the monuments, angels and saviours are particularly popular.

Calvary's crown jewel is the Italian Romanesque Revival chapel, which comes complete with a dramatic angel-lined entry court that would have done Cecil B De Mille proud (even though the director would never have tolerated a crow building her nest between the wings of one of his angels).

The cool interior features pink striped marble walls, ram's head banisters and fine stained glass, and makes a suitably impressive resting place for oil magnate Edward Doheny and comic Lou Costello.

Very well done. You mention this to be a driving cemetery. Looks very interesting. How would I get a map of the cemetery? I tried Google map found location but could not print a copy of it.
