Nightlife fashion tends to run north-south in SoCal, with trends emerging in LA before heading down to San Diego. Air Conditioned is one of those rare bars that's moved in the opposite direction. A handsome, low-lit lounge far from the beachside action, this Santa Monica take on a San Diego hot spot isn't a mould-breaker. However, it does what it does - good wines (there are regular tasting sessions), old-school music, friendly staff - very nicely indeed.
