If there's one thing LA takes seriously, it's traffic. Wait, we totally got that wrong—it's food, not traffic. Though there's simply no shortage of great LA restaurants that you can enjoy every single day of the year, every Angeleno knows eating donuts from Donut Friend and Silver Lake Ramen's tonkotsu several days a week just isn't easy on the wallet. For good eats that are also budget-friendly, we turn to cooking classes in Los Angeles. Here are five great cooking classes that will help you become a master of your own LA kitchen.

1. The Doughnut. Yes, you probably haven't been able to stop thinking about donuts since we mentioned them a couple of sentences ago. Learn to make donuts, including fritters, yeast-risen donuts, and all kinds of creams and glazes.

2. Ramen Run-Down: Tonkotsu. Salty, savory, umami-rich tonkotsu pork ramen, from your own kitchen?! Learn how to do it in this class, and also how to make a yummy flavored boiled egg and pork chasu.

3. Making Chocolate Basics. Take this class and you'll know how to create the bottomless supply of chocolate your pantry needs. Learn to make some basic chocolates and don't worry, you'll need to do a lot of tasting. You know, for quality assurance.

4. Pickle Crafting. Pickles are having a moment, and we're not just talking about cucumbers. Learn how to pickle green beans in this class and you'll never look at a produce section or farmers market the same way.

5. Knife Skills 101. Dedicate three hours to this class and you will know your way around a cutting board by the end. You'll also be eating a dinner that you prepared with your knife skills practice.
