Well, you can't say we didn't see it coming. A potentially treacherous El Niño has been on our radar in LA for months, but this week's storms prove that, no matter how much time we have to prepare, this city is no match for the rain. The California Highway Patrol says that 217 auto collisions were reported between 6 and 10am on Tuesday morning, which is a near 300 percent increase from the week prior. In the wake of the first of many expected storms, here are the roads that you should avoid. Feel free to list any additional problem spot you've encountered in the comments.

- Solimar burn: the 101 Freeway in Ventura County

- Angeles National Forest: Big Pines Highway, 1.5 miles east of Largo Vista Road to Angeles Crest highway

- Angeles National Forest, Glendora: from Big Dalton Road to east of Glendora Mountain Road
