Salted Eats, a new delivery service, teaches you how to cook some of LA's best dishes

Ever twirled a strand of Bestia chef Ori Menashe's sea urchin spaghetti and thought, "I could make this"? If so, two things: check yourself, man; but also, now you can make it—and in the comfort of your own home. Salted Eats, a spin-off of the instructional cooking website Salted, is launching in Los Angeles next week to bring fresh ingredients to your doorstep, along with a video of a featured chef teaching you exactly how to make his or her famed dish. Think of it as a cooking class featuring LA's greatest hits held in your own home.

Instead of signing up for a subscription, aspiring chefs can purchase the dishes à la carte, which range from Eveleigh's lemon chicken with Greek yogurt and eggplant to Petty Cash Taqueria's mushroom tacos. Menu items will change every week, with a new lineup coming out each Friday. Prices hover around the $15-$20 range; some dishes, like Menashe's uni spaghetti, will cost a bit more depending on the ingredients. It can get a little pricey—there are only enough ingredients to make a single serving—but the à la carte option lets you decide how often you want to participate, and the fact that you're getting recipe tips and tricks from some of LA's best chefs is a pretty valuable component (plus, most of the dishes take under 30 minutes to prepare).

While Salted Eats doesn't start taking orders until June 3, you can sign up to start reserving your bag of ingredients while there are still orders in stock. Delivery areas currently include neighborhoods that span from the Westside to Downtown, along with a few Eastside spots (Los Feliz, Echo Park, Atwater Village and Silver Lake). The Valleys and the South Bay are not included as of launch.

Will you be trying out Salted Eats when it launches? What coveted LA dishes would you like to learn how to make? Let us know in the comments below!
