In recent decades, this Downtown landmark has been the backdrop for many televised music performances, hosted some of the region's biggest salsa parties, and provided good vibes for spin sessions from the likes of John Digweed and Paul Van Dyk. Unfortunately, while its architecture is amazing, it hasn't been renovated since 1990 and could use a little nip-tuck. Security is hands-on and about as friendly as a New York City sanitation worker.
