The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon was nominated for an Oscar. It was not for Best Costume Design.
American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre, Santa Monica Wednesday December 12 2012 19:30

Before there was Internet porn, there were movies like The Blue Lagoon. The 1980 classic tells the story of a young boy and girl shipwrecked on a deserted island as they discover their own sexuality and attraction for one another. Go see a one-night revival of the Oscar-nominated film (Best Cinematography) with a special Blu-ray signing by director Randal Kleiser and actor Christopher Atkins in the theater's lobby starting at 6:30pm, followed by the film at 7:30pm and then a discussion about what it was like to make the film (and if you're lucky, some dirt on teenage Brooke Shields).
