If you think Adult Swim takes the art form of animation to a new level, check out the trailblazing short animated films of Len Lye. Colorful, abstract and groundbreaking, the New Zealand animator paints, scratches and stencils directly onto stock film, creating a kaleidoscopic effect. Go see a selection of 13 of the short films, each running one to 12 minutes, at LACMA as part of a complementary showcase in conjunction with the closing weekend of Drawing Surrealism.
