Time Out says

Wetlands is the rare film that still manages to shock today's jaded audiences by being refreshingly cringeworthy. The shamelessly raunchy flick follows 18-year-old Helen, whose hobbies include skateboarding, masturbating...with vegetables and generally experimenting with various social taboos. After a shaving accident lands her in the hospital, she starts to connect with her male nurse. Based on Charlotte Roche's bestselling novel, the film was an official selection at both the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW. It's memorable fun, if you're up for it, but no one under 18 will be admitted when the Nuart runs the German film (with English subtitles) for a week.
