This hotel opened as the Hollywood Landmark hotel in the 1950s; while it's been renovated since, it still feels pretty old-fashioned both inside and out. The mid-century post-and-beam architecture and courtyard pool with mature tropical landscaping are memorable assets, but the rooms are forgettable. Still, if you plan on spending most of your time at the many sights within a short distance of the hotel, you'll get from it what you need: a place to sleep, a place to shower and a safe place to store your bags.
