The unusual country-manor theme of this 1960s-era hotel is actually appropriate when you consider the location: it wasn't that long ago that this whole area was, at least in Los Angeles terms, relatively rural. Some of the rooms overlook an inviting pool, and there's also a café and a bar, but the amenities are generally somewhat limited. The draw, perhaps surprisingly, is in fact the location: families will appreciate its proximity to Universal Studios; outdoorsy types will find amazing hiking trails in the nearby Santa Monica Mountains; and for everyone else, the 101 freeway to LA is close at hand.
