Formerly a Ritz-Carlton, this grand old-money hotel changed hands in 2008. The new owners intend to preserve the heritage of the elegant 100-year-old property, referring to their planned upgrades as 'gentle'. Still, some $25 million worth of freshening up is scheduled for the cottages, the spa, the dining room, the terrace restaurant and the landscaping, so guests can expect to see tangible improvements to the property over the next few years.
