The Bay Area-based Joie de Vivre Group's first entry in the Los Angeles market is an eye-catching, custom-built circular tower overlooking I-405 (happily, there's no traffic noise) and within reach of the Getty Center in the hills above. The amenities on offer include a slightly underwhelming pool area, and the often-buzzing West bar and restaurant on the top floor. The rooms themselves are decorated plainly but attractively; each has its own small balcony. However, perhaps the hotel's best amenity is the variety of views available from the upper rooms, down I-405 and out across the city.
