This is an engaging, enthusiastically run operation, housed in an 1894 house and largely devoted to the decorative arts. The exhibits take the shape of rooms decorated in period style, among them a Victorian-era dining room and a 1930s kitchen. This permanent collection is supplemented by temporary displays; past shows have been devoted to everything from surfboards to old fruit-box labels. The museum is at its busiest on Sundays, though only outside: it hosts a hugely popular farmers' market every Sunday morning.
