Paul Kalkbrenner show (slide show)

Paul Kalkbrenner cranked the volume over Hollywood on Friday night, bringing the "Berlin Sound" to LA for one show. An eclectic crowd flocked to the Fonda for the chance to rock out with heavy beats and be dazzled by a stellar light show. The dance floor held down an international mix of youth salivating at the chance to catch Kalkbrenner and well-seasoned ravers out to loosen up and rhythmically flail about. The gig was full of all the usual shenanigans at an underground party, but the Fonda lends itself to the more relaxed folk finding a place to drink, chat and still enjoy the atmosphere and music without being trounced by a hoard of European backpackers.
