Paris-born chef Alain Giraud first came to prominence in the late '90s at Santa Monica's Lavande, before moving to Beverly Hills and really making his name at Bastide. In June 2008, Giraud returned to Santa Monica and opened Anisette, a bistro at the foot of the old clock tower.
