Most Westwood restaurants are student hangouts or noisy hipster joints. Gardens on Glendon is different: this rambling, cottage-like brick building is a comfortable, old-fashioned place in which to linger over a meal. The menu draws on French and Italian ideas but adds a little innovative flair: the Bombay lamb is a French take on Indian spicing, for instance. The service is blessedly free of attitude.
