It takes something special to lure outsiders to rundown Boyle Heights. Although it has three other restaurants around the city, La Parrilla is that something. Strolling mariachis add entertainment and authenticity, but it's the vast platters of barbecued meat that make it worth the trip. Allow time for a leisurely meal, and don't forget to tip the musicians.
