Ray's offers fine dining from the Patina Group in a museum setting at LACMA. The restaurant's decor is a continuation on the art theme with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that overlook the outdoor sculptures and Eames and Eero Saarinen–designed furniture. The food is Mediterranean-influenced with seasonal offerings from chef Kris Morningstar. The meal starts with some of the best bread around—house made and wood-baked, it's at once chewy and crusty—continues with handmade pastas and grilled meats, and ends with elegantly-composed desserts from one of the city's best pastry chefs Josh Graves. Sommelier Paul Sanguinetti curates a thorough wine list and creative cocktails, also served at the adjacent Stark Bar. The patio fills up with lunch time museum-goers, while dinner sees a quieter crowd. Don't miss Monday night's dinner tasting menu where each course is a $10 steal.
