Local 1205 is a food lover's emporium to satisfy from breakfast to late night. The front juice bar serves cold-pressed juices and smoothies made with fresh coconut and homemade almond milk. Healthy, raw, vegan options are aplenty—the acai bowl made with a homemade organic granola is especially good and satisfies the morning crowd. For lunch, order a sandwich that pays homage to owner Craig Weiss' NYC roots with meats from New York City's beloved delis liked Katz's and Second Avenue Deli, served with housemade pickles. In keeping with the namesake, the juice bar/deli features local organic produce for sale along with packaged, gourmet food items. Night owls can stop in for Brazilian-style pizzas and oysters in the soon-to-open back bar.

I really enjoyed Local 1205. I'm not often in the Venice area but due to a work engagement I spent a couple of days in the area. While exploring Abbot Kinney and famished, I was drawn into Local 1205 by the buzz of a busy lunch scene - it seemed to be a popular place so I decided to try it out. Glad I did - I ordered what they call the El Cubano which had porchetta, ham, pickles and gruyere cheese on a roll with a little bit of mustard. It was truly out of this world! I practically licked the plate. The server told me they make their own pickles and cure a lot of their own meats and it definitely shows in the quality of the fare. They have a pretty impressive list of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies - I haven't tried one yet but next time I definitely will. Also, attached is a market and deli where you can pick up some locally made items from fresh meats and seafood to salsa and cookies. Not to be missed when in the Venice area!
