Trend watch: Charitable products for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2013

These BCA products for 2013 are so stylish, we’d buy them even if they weren’t charitable.

Every October, charitable products that benefit Breast Cancer Awareness causes flood the market. We narrowed down the offerings to find stylish clothing, accessories and beauty products that we’d buy anyway. Among our findings: a sweet Cumbs cupcake, Nine West pumps and a massage at the Four Seasons Westlake Village—and not all of them are pink!


  • Kara Ackerman Talulah Le Couer Necklace, $75, at www.karaackerman.com. A hundred percent of proceeds will go to The Susan G. Komen Foundation during the month of October.

    Glo●minerals Bronze Kiss limited-edition bronzer, $40, at gloprofessional.com. Ten percent of each sale goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (nationalbreastcancer.org) through Dec 31.

  • Patricia Nash Terri leather cross-body bag, $128, at patricianashdesigns.com. One hundred percent of proceeds year-round goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (nationalbreastcancer.org).

  • Sacred Jewels rose-quartz gemstone hoop earrings, $140, at sacredjewels.com. Fifty percent of each sale goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (nationalbreastcancer.org) through Oct 31.

  • Crumbs Pink Ribbon Cupcake, $3.50, at www.crumbs.com and Crumbs Bake Shop locations. A dollar from each sale will go to National Breast Cancer Coalition for the entire month of October. 

  • Wacoal Retro Chic underwire bra, $60, at Macy’s, locations throughout the city; visit macys.com. Two dollars from each sale goes to Susan G. Komen (komen.org) through Oct 31.

  • Vineyard Vines Chappy Stripe Printed Tie, $75, at www.vineyardvines.com. Thirty percent of proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Alliance during the month of October.

  • Juicy Couture Pave Icon Heart Bracelet, $58, at Juicy Couture stores and www.juicycouture.com. Ten percent of each purchase will go to The Breast Cancer Foundation.

  • Nine West scalloped-edge suede peep-toe high heels, $45, available Oct 10 at qvc.com. One hundred percent of net profits benefits nine breast-cancer research and education organizations, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrfcure.org), through Oct 31.

  • A customized 50-minute tranquility massage with a Pink Lady Mocktail, $130, at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. A portion of proceeds will go to The Cancer Support Community.

  • Meira T pink sapphire beaded bracelet, $350, at www.meiratboutique.com. Twenty percent of sales will go toward the Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation. 

  • Stella & Dot Union Square Frida scarf, $59, at stelladot.com. One hundred percent of proceeds goes to Noreen Fraser Foundation (noreenfraserfoundation.org) through Oct 31.

  • Brad Stanton

    Ouidad Omega-3 treatment, $150 at Ouidad salon in Santa Monica. All proceeds from the series treatment are donated to Curls for a Cure and every dollar matched by Ouidad. 

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick, $3; lotion, $5; and skin-therapy oil, $10; all at Walgreens, locations throughout the city; visit walgreens.com. Fifteen percent of total proceeds (with a minimum donation of $100,000) goes to Susan G. Komen (komen.org) through June 2014.

  • Ban.do Mini Heart in Pink hair clip, $10, at www.shopbando.com. Twenty percent of proceeds will go to Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.
