Donald Margulies' adaptation of a Grace Paley short story centers around Shirley, a Jewish girl cast as Jesus in her school's Christmas Pageant. As an old woman, Shirley recounts the affair, recollecting her immigrant-parents' reactions. Directed by Bart DeLorenzo, the story captures the essence of the Christmas spirit in America.
