This luxury campsite, located in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama around 45 minutes from Madrid, is set in 40 hectares (99 acres) of grounds lined with oak trees. There are wooden chalets (€55-€155) that accommodate five people and have heating for winter stays, as well as pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes. Facilities are ample - in addition to four swimming pools and various sports courts (football, basketball, tennis and more), there are two discos, a restaurant, café-bar, launderette and supermarket, plus organised activities for children. Not far from from the skiing resort of Navacerrada and a short drive from El Escorial, this is a good base for discovering the province.
