Founded by Luis de Pablo, this pioneering institution boldly goes where few others in Madrid dare to go - into the dangerous world of the contemporary. The Centro gives 30 or so commissions annually to students who debut at the Auditorio Nacional, the Círculo de Bellas Artes or at the Reina Sofía museum itself. The centre also organises an interesting contemporary music festival, La Música Toma el Museo, with free concerts around the museum as well as out on the pleasant patio.
