A vast and noisy Asturian cider house, open since 1888. This is a great opportunity to rub elbows with madrileños really enjoying themselves at one of the long wooden tables. The restaurant does only three things: roast chicken, salad and cider. Turn up before the city gets hungry (around 1.30pm) if you
want a terrace seat, or take out a chicken and a bottle of cider and head for the River Manzanares for a picnic. At other times, expect to queue.
