Before Electrik, Chorlton's barlife was obstinately focused on the salubrious but secluded Beech Road area. Electrik heralded a shift back to the arterial centre, and a lively crowd packed up against its patio doors is now a prominent feature of the Chorlton weekend.

Opened by the collective behind Manchester's Electric Chair club, Electrik hosts DJs at the weekend and a painstakingly curated jukebox on weekdays. An intimate, lively setting, it also has decent daytime coffee and food.
