Manchester Food Lovers' Festival

Gastronomic celebrations are rapidly taking the place of the traditional harvest festival. October has already seen Manchester's tenth Food & Drink Festival and now, before the month is out, Tatton Park is hosting its own food-focused affair.

The Fine Food Lovers Festival is a chance to sample the wares of some of the region’s top food and drink producers. The 100 or so stalls – selling meats, cheeses, chocolate, baked goods and locally-brewed beer – are supplemented by demonstrations from well-known chefs including Simon Rimmer (the brains behind veggie eatery, Greens), David Mooney (Belle Époque, Knutsford) and Paul Askew (The London Carriage Works and Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool). With an emphasis on regional and sustainable produce, the Tatton festival provides a welcome chance to support local suppliers trying to keep our food interesting in the face of supermarket blandness.

North West Fine Food Lovers Festival Tatton Park, Knutsford, WA16 6QN (www.foodloversfestival.co.uk). October 27 & 28, 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm), £5.50/£4.50 concessions/£2.50 children aged 2-15/free for children under 2.
