Paradise Factory re-opens and Krysko Speaks!
The one-time home of Factory Records, Paradise Factory becomes the new home of The Warehouse Project
January sees Manchester’s club scene
proving the adage that 'as one door closes, another one opens'. As Electric
Chair celebrates its last night, those busy little beavers The Warehouse
Project are set to establish a permanent home at the vacant Paradise Factory
premises. The club was originally the home of Factory records but after the
company shut it was transformed into an 800 capacity club, which quickly became
a fixture in the Manchester music scene.
Resident DJ Krysko says that re-opening
the Factory is the ideal next move for the phenomenally successful Warehouse
Project: 'The
club ties in with the whole ethos of the Warehouse Project which is about doing
stuff for Manchester that it needs. It’s going to be run by all of us at the
Warehouse Project but it will be its own identity and it’s ongoing. It’s
important to me because it’s important to Manchester.' Friday nights will be
similar to the Ape nights with eclectic music from Drum 'n' Bass to hip hop.
Saturdays will be more club-orientated, with an amalgamation of live acts and
DJs. The opening night on Thursday January 24 sees Laurent
Garnier, Mike Pickering, Krysko and Danny Mac and no doubt a few hundred
frenzied clubbers.
