Manchester: St George‘s Day parade

The day of the dragon is here again - time to hang out the bunting

With damsels in distress and knights in the obligatory shining armour, the annual St George’s Day parade is a celebration of all things, well, ‘quaint’. Hang out the bunting, wave at Rose Queens and keep your eyes peeled for any pesky dragons as the procession perambulates from Miles Platting to Piccadilly Gardens.

St George’s Day Parade various locations including Miles Platting, Ancoats, Collyhurst and Manchester City Centre (0871 222 8223/www.manchesterlive.co.uk). April 20, Midday-1pm; free.
