RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park
Traditional garden artistry with some new feature attractions
Horticultural heaven returns to Cheshire in July with the Tatton Park Flower Show. Now into its tenth year, Tatton’s show gardens contain the usual mix of traditional and modern designs. Water features, bubble machines, metal walkways, the obligatory decking, outdoor sofas and barbecues all feature strongly, but the blooming line-up also includes some all-new attractions.
An art and sculpture trail snakes along the petal-strewn paths, with everything from a shimmering copper dragon to eco-friendly willow sculptures. A rural crafts workshop shows visitors all they need to know in order to weave their own baskets, while, inside the British Florist Association’s marquee, green-fingered punters can watch the national floristry competition finals. If you fancy nabbing some of the plants on display, sharpen your elbows and arrive in time for the 4pm sell-off on the last day of the show.
