Deliciously Swiss

Pastry lovers across Manchester have cause to rejoice: a new artisan baker has set up shop in Didsbury Village

On the same stretch of road as The Art of Tea, the Deliciously Swiss bakery knocks out the usual dough-based fare: bread, rolls, muffins and cookies. But where it excels is in its pastries. From Danish to chocolate croissants, via lemon meringue, various cheesecakes and apple strudel, Deliciously Swiss is surely the home of the stickiest and sweetest pastries we’ve had the pleasure of sampling.

Owner Mark Cooper trained as a Swiss Master Baker and worked across the world before bringing his skills to Manchester, and it’s clear he knows his stuff. Don’t just take our word for it: despite being a relatively new venture, Deliciously Swiss is already supplying Urbis, the Midland Hotel, Cornerhouse and Liverpool’s Tate and Bluecoat galleries.

Deliciously Swiss 25 Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, M20 6TN (07880 618070/www.deliciouslyswiss.co.uk). Mon-Thur 7am-4.30pm, Fri-Sat 7am-6pm.
