Ordsall Hall

Ordsall Lane, Salford

Ordsall is now an unlikely setting for this splendid Grade-I listed house, which comprises elements of medieval, Tudor, Stuart and Victorian construction. The patchwork of functions persists to this day, with a pottery the latest addition. Only the Great Hall, the ‘star chamber’ bedroom and the kitchen are accessible to the general public – although an ambitious restoration project will hopefully open up more of the building in years to come. The regular family open days really bring the building to life.
