11 Bloom Street, Salford

This is a real gem, an alcopop-free zone sitting pretty in the no-man’s-land between and Salford (it's an easy stroll from the city centre). Beers include offerings from Bazens and Flintshire beer-meisters Facers, with Timothy Taylor a staple. A newly launched menu promises hearty grub sourced from local suppliers, while the fantastic vaulted room upstairs (home to Studio Salford, below) hosts regular band nights and plays. All told, it’s hard to fault this pub – even the jukebox has won awards.
