Whitworth Art Gallery

With the Art Gallery generally grabbing most of the limelight, the University-owned Whitworth is a quieter, more spacious place, with holdings divided between fine art and industrial design and crafts. Opening with Jacob Epstein’s dramatic Genesis sculpture, the gallery specialises in wallpapers, textiles, prints and watercolours. It has a light-flooded sculpture gallery and a regular schedule of temporary exhibitions and talks.
