Another listed boozer that dates back to the 1790s, when the place is said to have been the hangout of choice for performers from the city’s then permanent circus. One of Tetley’s heritage pubs, it’s popular with football fans – despite its diminutive size – and there’s a good smattering of United and City paraphernalia on the walls. There’s no food and no music, but bags of atmosphere.
