Abraham Lincoln Statue

Lincoln Square, Brazenose Street

An imposing if slightly incongruous presence amid the City Centre office blocks, this statue was given to the city in 1919 in recognition of the support that Lincoln received from the citizens of in his campaign against slavery. It was moved into the City Centre for the first time in 1986, from its original location in Platt Fields Park.
