A pleasing post-bomb open space that nestles between Urbis, Chetham’s Library and School (see below), Victoria Station and the Triangle shopping centre. The gracefully undulating grass slopes and layered water features are colonised every Saturday by a sociologist’s paradise – hordes of teenage alt-rock tribes and pockets of clattering skateboarders, putting the space to a vibrant if unpredicted use.
