St Peter’s Square

The library’s classical revival style disguises the fact that it was only built in 1934, since when it has become one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks. Simply browse, chill in the café or emit coughs to check for the echo in the great domed central hall. Outside, the building’s graceful exterior arc makes a photogenic match with the neighbouring sweep of the Town Hall extension.
