It would be a crime not to guide the discerning visitor to Selfridges; five floors of loveliness, desirability and luxury. The basement food department is worth a trip in itself, with several counters serving speciality food, plus a Yo! Sushi conveyor belt. For divine wine and top-notch dinner parties, this is the ultimate treat. Upstairs, there are cosmetics, menswear – with a mix of street and classic labels – luxury womenswear and shoes, beside the Champagne bar/restaurant, while the top floor offers younger, funkier (read ‘cheaper’) high street labels. Not to be missed.
