Printworks, Withy Grove
A 2,500-capacity mega club from the people behind London’s Heaven, Pure was piloted in the Printworks site in 2006 after its former tenants – the venture Lucid – failed to make it work. They started by stripping out the clutter (a bowling alley, restaurants) and installing a £300,000 Funktion One sound system, with local radio DJs now taking the helm for commercial house sessions at weekends.
